    The 3 biggest diet mistakes

Have you often tried to stick to a diet somehow and failed miserably? Then you are not the only person in the world. So that you are smarter next time, here are our 3 biggest diet misconceptions!

    1. “I just have to eat a little!” NO WAY, please do not stop eating. This can destroy your diet in a second. To lose weight you need an energy deficit, that is for sure. So you eat less than you need, but please not TOO little. When that happens your body goes into some sort of emergency like famine, it remembers that and the next time it gets enough food it will do whatever it takes to store as much as it can: you gain weight or you just cannot at some point lose more healthy weight. Therefore, an energy deficit of 300-500 kcal is an optimal range for long-term and healthy weight loss.

    2. “I just need to cut down on the carbs!” Not directly! You need a balance of fats, proteins AND carbohydrates for a healthy body. Yes, carbs can help you lose weight and water quickly and easily without taking away vital messengers or functions from your body. Fats and proteins are essential for your body because it cannot produce them itself. The situation is different with carbohydrates: they are not essential for survival because the fats can take over the function of the carbohydrates in a relaxed manner. How much of what you need depends on the type of sport, goal and everyday life.

    3. “The scale never lies!” Oh yes it does! The scale shows you a different number every day. This fluctuates by up to 40 % from day to day because your weight is not just made up of fat. Muscle weighs more than fat and your hydration balance will change based on training load, diet, cycle phase for women, and stress level in general. So just like that there can be 2 kg more on the scale just because you ate one plate more than usual.

We are always there for you and support you in achieving your goal,
